Hamona

Terms & Privacy

What this is

Hamona is a point-of-sale, inventory, and reporting service for supermarkets. These terms cover any store signed up here, including a free trial store you're only testing. Plain language throughout — if anything is unclear, ask before assuming.

Your account and data

  • You (the store owner) are responsible for what your staff enter and for keeping your own 4-digit PIN and any staff PINs you set reasonably private. PINs are never stored in plain text — only a one-way hash that can't be reversed back into the original number.
  • Your sales, product, and staff data is yours. You can request an export of all of it at any time, and take it with you if you ever stop using Hamona.
  • Your data isn't sold, and isn't shared with anyone outside what's needed to run the service itself (currently: hosting on Vercel, the database on Neon, and — only for transactional emails like an approval notice — Resend). No advertising trackers.
  • A platform administrator can see your store's name, signup contact details, and account status in order to approve/support your account — not your day-to-day sales data.

Approval and account status

New signups are reviewed before they go live, usually within a few hours. An account can be suspended for non-payment or abuse of the service; you'll still be able to request an export of your data if that happens.

Service level

Hamona is provided as-is, without a guaranteed uptime commitment at this stage. The app is built to keep working offline on your own device between server outages — checkout, inventory, and staff logins all function with no connection — but the backend service itself (sync, reports, signup/admin) can occasionally be unavailable like any hosted service. We aim to fix issues quickly when they come up.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the service grows. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date; continued use after a change means you accept the update.

Last updated: August 2026.

One honest note

This page is an early, plain-language version written to be genuinely accurate about what the product does today — not a substitute for a lawyer-reviewed agreement. It'll get a proper legal review as the service grows past its first handful of stores.
